Complete setup, step by step

Before you start

• Have the Administrator or Manage Server permission.
• Access to the server you want to add the bot to.
• A Discord account verified by email (Discord requires this to authorise bots).

Step 1 — Invite the bot

1. Open the official link: see How do I invite Roody to my server?
2. Pick your server and accept the applications.commands and bot scopes.
3. Confirm the requested permissions. If you trim any of them, some modules won't work.

Step 2 — Get into the dashboard

1. Open /dashboard and sign in with Discord.
2. Select the server you've just set up.
3. You'll see every module in the sidebar, grouped by category.

Step 3 — Configure the essentials

We recommend starting with these modules, in this order. Each one has its own article with the full detail:

1. Logs (recommended first)

• Pick the channel where you want to receive the records.
• Enable the events you care about (edited/deleted messages, bans, channel changes, etc.).
• Detail: Setting up logs.

2. Welcome and goodbye messages

• The channel where new members and departures will be announced.
• A custom message and, optionally, auto roles for newcomers.
• Detail: Welcome and goodbye messages.

3. Moderation

• Automatic filters (words, links, spam, caps, mentions).
• A warning system with threshold-based sanctions.
• Staff roles with access to the moderation commands.
• Detail: Moderation system.

4. Tickets (if you offer support)

• The category tickets are created in, the panel channel and the transcript channel.
• Staff roles with permissions over the tickets.
• Detail: Ticket system.

Step 4 — Add the rest at your own pace

Once the essentials are running, add whatever your community needs:

• Economy with a shop, jobs and mini-games.
• Levels with XP rewards.
• Suggestions with voting and decisions.
• Giveaways with requirements and multipliers.
• Verification, anti-raid, custom commands, music, backup, polls, threads, boost…

Step 5 — Check that everything works

1. In Discord, type / and check that Roody's commands appear.
2. Run a simple command, /serverinfo for example.
3. If you set up logs, edit or delete a message and check that Roody records it.
4. If you set up welcome messages, kick a secondary account and re-invite it to see the flow.
