Basic initial setup

Getting into the dashboard

1. Open /dashboard and sign in with Discord.
2. Pick the server you want to configure.
3. In the sidebar you'll see the Main panel and, below it, the entries grouped into six blocks: Moderation, Community, Fun, Utilities, Configuration (General settings, Customise bot, Logs, Backup) and Support.

General settings

It's the first entry in the sidebar's "Configuration" block. It gathers the settings that affect the bot and the server as a whole, organised into these cards:

• General information — name, description, region, website, contact email and the main colour of the bot's embeds.
• Bot settings — the language Roody replies in on this server (12 languages available) and the main staff role that administers it.
• System channels — system channel, rules, public updates, AFK channel and its timeout.
• Security settings — verification level, explicit content filter and default notifications.
• Role settings — auto role for new members, booster role, member role and bot role.
• Server limits — maximum members and presences (0 = no limit).
• Social networks and Extra links — so your community can find you outside Discord.

Some fields (description, verification level, system channels…) are also applied in Discord through the bot's API; if Roody is offline or missing permissions, you'll see a notice when you save.

To restrict who can use the bot, the dedicated module is Blacklist (in the "Moderation" block). For per-module permissions (ticket support staff, suggestion decision-makers, etc.) check each module's own article.

Turning on the essential modules

Once the above is done, start enabling the modules you want to use. Each one has its own switch:

• Logs — record server activity.
• Welcome and goodbye messages.
• Moderation — filters, warnings, automod.
• Tickets — support system.
• The rest (economy, levels, suggestions, giveaways, music…) whenever you need them.

Recommended channels

Before configuring the modules, create these private channels (visible to staff only):

• #mod-logs — for moderation logs.
• #server-logs — for channels, roles and members (if you want it separate from the above).
• #ticket-logs and #ticket-transcripts — for the tickets module.
• #suggestions — public, so members can propose ideas.

Bot permissions

If you invited Roody with all the default permissions, you don't have to touch anything yet. If you trimmed any of them, or you see errors like "I'm missing permissions", check Bot permissions in Discord.

Checking that everything saves properly

1. Change a simple setting (the embed colour, for example).
2. Hit Save and wait for the confirmation message.
3. In Discord, run /serverinfo and check that the embed uses the colour you just set.
